Week 6

1.      Which items had the largest headlines?

11 PACIFIC NATIONS AND U.S. ENDORSE GIANT TRADE PACT it was the largest headline becasue it was the most important news story.


2.     Which items had the smallest headlines? Soft news story's had the smallest headlines because they are less important then the hard news.


3.     Which stories had photos?  The most prominent stories.

4.     Consider the placement of the articles.  Does the position of a story (above or below the fold) affect the reader’s response to it? Yes its position matters the stories above the fold are read more then articles below the fold.


5.     What other information does the front page include in addition to major news reports?  How does this extra information affect the reader’s attention? Small previews of other stories. This grabs the readers attention and makes them want to read more.

6.     How many stories are on the front page? 16


7.     How many stories are local? 1          National?6        International?6

8.     What do you find appealing about this front page?  What would you like to change? The front page needs more breaks in the printed text so the readers don't  get bored. They should add more pictures
